Responsibilities (1 of 2)
Responsible for overseeing and advancing process technology initiatives to achieve strategic objectives.
Lead critical process improvements, develop new technologies and ensure manufacturing processes are efficient, compliant, and aligned with business goals.
Responsible for process evaluation and approval, including conducting comprehensive evaluations, analyzing and assessing proposed process changes.
Approve and implement changes by providing expert approval for process alterations, ensuring alignment with best practices and industry standards.
Responsible for process improvement and productivity enhancement, including identifying improvement opportunities and proactively identifying and defining requirements for process improvement and productivity enhancement projects.
Lead strategic projects aimed at increasing manufacturing efficiency, improving product quality, reducing costs, and enhancing production rates.
Responsible for development and optimization of processes, formulation and methods and control strategies to meet and exceed quality standards.
Design and scale-up new or enhanced manufacturing processes to support product line growth and meet productivity targets.
Develop/create and enhance management systems and procedures to monitor, measure and compare operating performance against established benchmarks.
Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
Responsibilities (2 of 2) Oversee reliability priorities and manage maintenance backlogs, ensuring minimal disruption to operations and sustained process performance.
Review and assess product development requirements for compatibility with existing processing methods and evaluate associated costs and timelines.
Responsible for budget assistance, contributing to the development of capital and operating budgets, and providing insights into cost implications and resource needs.
Provide guidance and support in the training and development of engineering staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and process excellence.
Required Qualifications
Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or Chemical Technology
one (1) year of experience in the job or as a Senior R&D Engineer or closely related occupation responsible for the development, design and scale-up of new catalysts products from lab scale to commercial production.
Experience must include providing leadership on safety and environmental issues, including working safely in a laboratory/manufacturing plant/environment.
Must have experience applying chemistry/fundamental engineering and design of experiment (DEO) concepts to develop technical solutions utilizing statistical and catalyst evaluation techniques for process development/improvement and using Minitab statistical software for analysis.
Experience must include developing and implementing functional FMEA processes and identifying/solving chemical and process engineering problems related to new product development and manufacturing process concepts. 5-10% travel required.
