Principal Electrical Engineer
Job Description
Overview:
This position will be based at a large petrochemical plant located about 45 miles southeast of Chicago - most people who work at this facility live in the Joliet area or the far southwest suburbs of Chicago (Plainfield, Lockport, Crest Hill, Naperville, etc). This role is a strategic electrical engineering position at the plant and this person will perform a number of duties, with the general theme of being a subject-matter expert from a electrical engineering standpoint. This role will contribute in the areas of power distribution, electrical mechanical maintenance programming and implementation, among others. Travel will be minimal. This facility observes a 9/80 work schedule.
Requirements:
B.S. in Electrical Engineering required
7+ years of post-college, industry experience, out of heavy industry (chemicals, petrochemical, refining, steel, pulp/paper, etc)
Need to have experience in power distribution, working with systems ranging from 480V to 13.8kV. This includes associated instrumentation.
Need to have electrical mechanical integrity experience which is essentially reliability programming for electrical equipment.
THIS IS NOT a process control engineer position, no experience with DCS or PLC system is necessary.
