Job Summary

The Press Operator is responsible for operating punch presses, stamping presses, and related equipment to manufacture high-quality metal components in accordance with engineering drawings, production schedules, and quality standards. This position plays a critical role in maintaining productivity, safety, and quality within the Bethel facility.

Key Responsibilities

Press Operation & Production



Set up and operate mechanical and/or hydraulic presses in accordance with work instructions and job travelers. Load raw material and unload finished parts safely and efficiently. Perform routine press adjustments to ensure proper forming, alignment, and quality. Monitor machine performance during operation and report abnormalities immediately. Meet or exceed production standards while maintaining quality expectations.

Quality Control



Inspect parts using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and visual standards. Verify parts meet print specifications and customer requirements. Identify and segregate nonconforming parts and notify supervision or Quality. Complete required production and inspection documentation accurately.

Safety & Housekeeping



Follow all safety procedures including lockout/tagout, machine guarding, PPE requirements, and material handling protocols. Maintain a clean and organized workstation in accordance with 6S standards. Report unsafe conditions, near misses, or incidents immediately.

Equipment & Tooling Care



Perform basic preventative maintenance such as lubrication, cleaning, and inspection. Ensure dies, tooling, and fixtures are handled and stored properly. Assist with minor troubleshooting and support maintenance as needed.

Team Collaboration



Work closely with Set-Up Technicians, Supervisors, Quality, and Maintenance to ensure smooth production flow. Support continuous improvement initiatives related to safety, quality, efficiency, and scrap reduction.
Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required. 1-3+ years of experience operating stamping or punch presses in a manufacturing environment preferred. Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and work instructions. Experience using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, safety-sensitive environment.
Physical Requirements

Ability to stand for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation. Repetitive motion and manual dexterity required. Exposure to noise, moving machinery, and industrial materials.
Work Environment

Manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, metal materials, and production noise. Use of PPE such as safety glasses, steel-toe footwear, gloves, and hearing protection is required.
Compliance Requirement

U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Residency is required to comply with ITAR and AS9100 regulations related to controlled technical data and defense-related manufacturing.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
