Job Description

American Alloy Fabrication, Inc. (AAFI) is an established contract manufacturing company specializing in precision mechanical assemblies and sheet metal enclosures. We have an immediate opportunity for an experienced Press Brake Programmer/Operator. This position is responsible for the daily setup, programming and operation of CNC controlled press brakes in a just-in-time fabrication facility.

All applicants will be required to take a hands-on test which will require reading engineering drawings, programming and testing on CNC press brakes. Please do not apply if you are unable to perform the essential functions of this position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:



Set up, operate and program a CNC press brake. Select correct tooling for the job task with setup documents. Load, install and correctly set up the tools required. Interpret engineering drawings and work order instructions to correctly produce parts. Perform assigned work to time standards and quality expectations. Account for time and work completed via written work sheets. Make decisions and problem solve for routine manufacturing issues. Observe, report and document production and quality control issues. Maintain performance logbooks on assigned equipment, report deficiencies to maintenance team. Participate in equipment preventative maintenance at operator level. Required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.

EXPERIENCE:



Strong press brake operation and fabrication background. Working knowledge and understanding of sheet metal bending allowances, dimensional tolerances and use of precision measurement tools. Ability to work with various types of metals and forming characteristics. Demonstrated competency in basic shop math. Basic ability to read and interpret blueprints and other shop drawing aids. Flexible and responsive with a strong teamwork orientation. Good verbal and written communication skills. Desire to learn new skills and improve technical knowledge. Above average problem-solving skills. Strong orientation toward quality, safety and continuous improvement. Ability to work well under pressure and use initiative to meet team expectations. Experience in air bending and coining bends is a plus.

Factory press brake and programming training available to the right candidate.



PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:



Lift, carry, push and or pull 1 - 40 lbs. frequently.

Squat/kneel, bend/stoop, twist/turn, grasp and reach overhead and outward frequently.

Sit, stand and walk for 1 - 10 hours per day.

Ability to work in a 55 - 88-degree Fahrenheit work environment.

Work in a fast-paced industrial environment wearing hearing protection and vision protection.
