Minimum Qualifications:

Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or a related field. Child Development Associate (CDA) credential may be accepted with experience. Minimum of 1-2 years' experience working with preschool-aged children in a licensed childcare or educational setting. Knowledge of child development principles and best practices in early learning. First Aid and CPR certification or ability to obtain. Background clearance with state licensing requirements.

Maximum Qualifications:

M.A. Certification, emphasis in one of the following areas: Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Special Education or Special Education. First Aid and CPR certification or ability to obtain. Background clearance with state licensing requirements.

The Preschool Teacher is responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for children ages 2 to 5 years. The teacher will plan and implement engaging curriculum that fosters physical, emotional, social, and cognitive growth, while ensuring the individual needs of each child are met in accordance with early childhood education standards and licensing regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities:



1. Develop and implement daily lesson plans and activities that support age-appropriate development in language, motor skills, cognitive skills, and social-emotional learning.

2. Create a warm, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes a sense of belonging and encourages curiosity, creativity, and independence.

3. Use observation and assessment tools to monitor children's progress, document developmental milestones, and communicate regularly with families.

4. Foster positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues to support a collaborative and respectful learning community.

5. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom that complies with health and safety regulations.

6. Support routines and transitions (e.g., meals, toileting, naptime) with sensitivity and consistency.

7. Promote positive guidance strategies to support children's behavior and emotional regulation.

8. Collaborate with team members, including assistant teachers, support staff, and specialists, to enhance learning and provide individualized support.

9. Participate in staff meetings, professional development, reflective supervision meetings and parent conferences as required.

10. Follow the agency's personnel and program policies and procedures.

11. Other duties as assigned.

4. Use personal vehicle and/or agency vehicle to make home visits or to conduct other business as needed. Must have a clear driving record to use agency vehicle. Mileage is rendered for use of own personal vehicle.
