The Preschool Teacher implements a voluntary, quality, preschool program that aligns with the NM FOCUS standards and the NM ECECD Childcare Regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : (Other duties may be assigned)
The Lead Teacher creates weekly lesson plans, conducts observations, plans CQI goals, assess children and the classroom, and provides a safe environment for children to learn.
Plans and conducts parent meetings and other family engagement events. Attends scheduled parent meetings, staff meetings, professional development training, etc. Communicates effectively with other staff members, parents, and students. Displays a desire and enthusiasm for working with young children. Compiles with local, state, and federal policies, rules, and regulations. Uses time effectively; is punctual and has good attendance. Maintains emotional control under stress
Education Requirements for Lead Teachers- Lead Teachers must:
hold a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood,
be licensed in Early Childhood Education or;
pursuing a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood, hold a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood.
All PreK Staff must complete all required training stated in the annually updated Pre K Professional Learning Plan.
Twenty-Four (24) clock hours of continued professional learning is required annually for all staff in NM Pre K Classrooms.
