We are looking for a team that is excited to create a program that provides quality care and education to children and their families. Our Infant/Toddler, Preschool and After School childcare classrooms are located at 325 Niagara Street in Providence, RI.
This Teacher Assistant Position is a full-time position Monday - Friday in our Preschool Classroom
McAuley Village is a housing program for women led families with children that prides itself on offering programs and services that help the family live their best life possible and assists the mom in all ways possible to achieve housing and financial security. Quality childcare is a critical need that enables these families to gain financial independence.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The classroom Teacher Assistant works under the supervision and guidance of the Lead Teacher and is responsible for supporting the teacher.
QUALIFICATIONS
Candidate l must be at least eighteen (18) years of age and hold a High School Diploma or a GED certificate to assume the role of Teacher Assistant.
Experience working with young children in a childcare center
Bi-lingual, Spanish speaking is beneficial
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with children, parents, and co-workers.
Family Engagement: Foster strong partnerships with families through communication and support that promotes the children's development
Administrative Tasks: Maintain accurate records of attendance, meals and children's learning and development.
Basic computer skills
CPR/AED/First Aid Certificate
DCYF and BCI clearances
Ability to exert physical effort in light to moderate work involving lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling.
Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, climb and balance.
SALARY
$16 - $18 per hour or commensurate with experience
