At Motorola Solutions, we help people be their best in the moments that matter. As part of the U.S. Federal Government Markets Division, we help soldiers see inside buildings and law enforcement agents see around street corners. We provide the situational awareness first responders need when a moment brings catastrophe. We do this by connecting them to seamless communication networks, applications, and services, providing them with real-time information, and arming them with intuitive, nearly indestructible handheld devices.



The Presales Engineering Group is the technical lifeblood of the Sales Organization. Our engineers bring to life innovative communications solutions that make a difference in the moments that matter. As solutions architects, systems engineers have the technology and design responsibility for all sales support engagements nationwide.

A Presales Systems Engineer partners closely with customers and the sales team, delivering customer-driven, world-class, leading-edge, end-to-end solutions that rise to the communications and situational awareness challenges that our customers face. Working within a team of sales, service, engineering, and technical support resources, the Presales Systems Engineer Co-op is the overall owner of the solution's technical design, ensuring we meet our customers' needs. As an engineering co-op, you will work within the engineering team to deliver customer-driven, world-class, leading-edge, end-to-end solutions that rise to the challenges that our customers face.



The team concentrates on the following mission-critical communications technologies at various levels of complexity:

Public safety grade mobile voice and data networks Advanced mobile devices Public safety mobile broadband networks and devices Software applications for mission-critical intelligence The typical scope of responsibilities may include the following: Customer requirements discovery Technology strategy development End-to-end system architecture design Proposal development Internal and external technical presentations Equipment and software solution demos, including configuration and testing

The ideal candidate has the following skills and capabilities:


Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field General knowledge of IT network and computer architecture General knowledge of wireless communications fundamentals and voice/data architectures both Public and private (e.g. APCO P25, LTE, 802.11, 4G/5G) highly desirable A positive attitude with a can-do mentality that enables you to be creative, resourceful and deliver results Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to present complex topics to technical and non-technical audiences Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders Willingness to think outside the box and challenge the status quo Attention to detail

Target Hourly Base Pay Range: $25.00-$30.00 USD


Consistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. Pay within this range varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate.
