Summary of Performance Expectations. This position is responsible for all pre-registration activities including gathering and processing patient demographic and financial information, identifying payment sources, computing and collecting patient responsibilities, ensuring authorization information has been obtained, providing patient appointment reminders and instructions, and providing excellent customer service to all patients, peers, medical center staff, community providers, etc.
Education and Credentials:
Required High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Formal course work in business administration. Medical terminology.
Work Experience:
Required One year administrative experience in customer service. Given experience and on-the-job training, incumbent should be proficient in the basic aspects of the job within three months of employment date.
Preferred Three years experience in a hospital admitting department or medical office.
