Job Summary

We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). In this role, you will be responsible for providing expert nursing care to patients who are preparing for surgery and for caring for patients recovering from anesthesia following surgical procedures. You will collaborate closely with surgical teams, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to facilitate smooth transitions from surgery to recovery, all while maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and comfort.

Responsibilities

Monitor and assess patient vital signs, oxygen levels, and overall condition during post-anesthesia recovery using advanced EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic and Cerner. Administer medications, including IV infusions and injections, ensuring precise dosage and adherence to hospital protocols. Perform physical examinations and evaluate patient responses to anesthesia and pain management interventions. Conduct patient assessments, including physiological evaluations, laboratory specimen collection/processing, and diagnostic lab review. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by maintaining confidentiality of medical records and documentation. Participate in infection control practices and adhere to TJC standards for quality patient care delivery.

Qualifications

Valid RN license with current registration in the applicable state or region. Critical care experience preferred, especially ICU or ER experience demonstrating ability to handle acute care confidently. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy & physiology, and laboratory procedures. Skilled in IV insertion/infusion therapy, Familiarity with pain management protocols and advanced patient assessment skills across diverse populations Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments while demonstrating excellent communication skills. Additional certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

Pay: $28.00 - $38.00 per hour
