River Valley Power & Sport is expanding our Rochester Service Department and seeking a skilled, motivated

Powersports Technician

(also known as

Motorcycle Technician

Small Engine Mechanic

) to join our high-performing, year-round service team.

What You'll Do (Core Technician Responsibilities)

Diagnose and troubleshoot engines, drivetrains, fuel systems, and electrical systems Perform PDI (Pre-Delivery Inspections), setups, and operational run-ups Complete routine maintenance and factory-recommended services Handle major mechanical repairs and engine rebuilds when needed Install accessories, upgrades, and customer-requested add-ons Move units in and out of bays using shop equipment Work collaboratively with the service team to ensure accuracy and timely turnaround

What You Bring

Your own basic tool set (all specialty tools provided) Prior experience as a Powersports Technician, Motorcycle Mechanic, Marine Technician, or Small Engine Mechanic preferred--but not required Manufacturer certifications (BRP, Polaris, Yamaha, Suzuki) are a strong plus Strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and consistent work ethic Ability to work independently; efficient time management Computer proficiency for diagnostics and repair order documentation Forklift experience helpful (training provided)

Schedule

Full-time, year-round employment

Typical schedule:

Monday-Friday, 7-4 or 8-5

(five 8-hour shifts)

No seasonal layoffs--steady workflow across all product categories.

Compensation

Pay is based on experience, certifications, and efficiency.


Average technicians earn

$30-$32/hr

Senior/advanced technicians and certified techs earn

$40+/hr

Annual earning potential:

$63,000-$85,000+

Compensation includes a stable hourly base plus a

billable-hour incentive program

commonly sought by experienced technicians.
