Are you ready to build progress with us? Overview: PURPOSE
This position reports directly to the Production Coordinator. All duties are performed in a work-safe manner; plant safety rules are followed and individual works as a team member. The primary responsibility is to assist in the operation of the powerhouse. Responsibilities:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Understand and comply with Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) policies to assure that environment, health and safety are the first priority of the business. Actively support key safety initiatives at the facility and assist the department as needed to improve EHS performance and results.
• Monitors the temperatures and pressure on equipment.
• Monitors water distribution cycle and water treatment.
• Monitors the steam cycle and distribution system.
• Responsible for reporting or correcting mechanical problems of unusual operating conditions.
• Responsible for maintenance of instruments and charts in prescribed manner.
• Responsible for training self in the duties of the Powerhouse Operating Technician to prepare for future advancement.

RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHER JOBS

• Will work with other powerhouse operators to complete work assigned

Qualifications:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Required Education: High School diploma/GED
Requierd Work Experience: 1 year of training with CT-30 assistance


Additional Requirement:

• Willingness to partake in additional training to prepare for future advancement.
• Must pass written exam.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be regularly required to walk, stand or climb for extensive periods; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; and talk or hear. The employee must be able to handle medium weight materials, tools or equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may work near moving mechanical parts; in high precarious places; is exposed to extreme heat, noise and the risk of electrical shock. While performing the duties of this job the employee must be able to travel through a cement plant; i.e., walk over obstacles, climb stairs and ladders, lift heavy or awkward parts, wear personal protective equipment (hardhat, safety glasses, fall protection, respirators etc.), work in outside weather conditions with exposure to extreme cold and heat.

• Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
