Overview:
We are seeking a motivated postdoctoral fellow to join a project investigating Alzheimer's disease (AD) risk genes using functional genomics. The work will involve cutting-edge 2D and 3D in vitro models derived from human induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPSCs). The research will focus on uncovering the molecular mechanisms of major AD risk and protective variants, exploring associated genes, and identifying potential targeted therapeutics.
What You'll Do:
Culture, maintenance, and amplification of human induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPSCs), and derived neurons and glia cells.
Design and perform experiments using hiPSC-derived CNS cell types.
Perform molecular, cellular and imaging assays (sample processing, immunofluorescence, microscopy, etc).
Analyze and interpret data; prepare reports, manuscripts, and presentations.
What We're Looking For:
Basic Requirements:
Previous experience in hiPSC differentiation to neural cells and glia cells.
Programming experience (e.g., R, Python, MATLAB) and familiarity with relevant bioinformatics pipelines.
Experience with sample processing, immunofluorescence, and microscopy.
Strong analytical, quantitative and time-management skills.
Good/excellent written and spoken English; ability to write scientific reports and papers.
Strong motivation for learning; ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience with Alzheimer's disease iPSC-derived models.
Experience in analyzing large-scale omics datasets.
Salary Range: Minimum $65,000.00, Midpoint $65,000.00, Maximum $65,000.00
