RESPONSIBILITIES



The postdoctoral researcher will contribute to research on voice, upper airway, and swallowing across clinical and occupational voice populations. Responsibilities include designing and conducting studies that integrate quantitative, mixed-methods, and qualitative approaches, analyzing multimodal data (acoustic, aerodynamic, and endoscopic), preparing manuscripts for publication, and assisting with grant development and student supervision. Projects emphasize translational applications in occupational voice and aging populations.

Required Qualifications:

Ph.D. in Communication Sciences and Disorders, Speech-Language Pathology, or a related field. Master in Speech-Language Pathologist (or international equivalent) with clinical experience and research interest in voice, upper airway, and swallowing disorders. Proficiency in R, MATLAB, Python, and Praat for data analysis and visualization. Experience with videoendoscopic evaluation (e.g., FEES), acoustic and aerodynamic assessment, and integration of physiologic and perceptual data. Strong background in scientific writing, study design, and data interpretation. Demonstrated ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary research environments.

Desired Qualifications:

Training in exercise physiology, respiratory or laryngeal function, or motor learning principles applied to voice and swallowing therapy. Experience with signal processing, wearable sensors, or voice monitoring tools. Familiarity with occupational health or geriatric populations. Bilingual proficiency (English and Spanish) preferred to support international and cross-cultural collaborations.
