The Postdoctoral Fellow will be working on a bioengineering project that integrate wetlab research with AI-driven bioinformatics tool development. The suitable candidate should be cooperative, proactive, self-learning and independent and effectively troubleshoot tasks. Basic molecular and cell biology techniques are required, including bacterial transformation and handling, PCR, molecular cloning (restriction enzyme and Gibson assembly), gene codon optimization, DNA extraction (miniprep/midiprep/maxiprep), sanger sequencing sample submissions, gene sequence analysis, mammalian cell culture work in biosafety cabinet while maintaining sterility techniques, DNA transfection into mammalian cell culture (PEI/lipofectamine), western blot. Cellular fluorescence imaging experience and image processing (ImageJ) are central to the work. Experience with high-content imaging is preferred.
Ability to master techniques that are critical to success include virus production (retrovirus, mouse Moloney leukemia virus), Fluorescence activated cell sorting (FACS), next-generation sequencing.
Interest in applying machine learning and computer programming while interfacing with AI assistant to develop codes (Python/R/etc) will be important part of project. Computer skills expected for success will include large language model, model training and evaluative processes.
