POSITION:

The OSU Center for Developmental Disabilities (OSUCDD) invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow who will actively engage in research projects and programs within OSUCDD. Fellows will receive training and mentorship focused on conducting community-engaged research, guided by two primary OSUCDD mentors (Dr. Jennifer Jones and Dr. Kami Gallus). Fellows will collaborate with an existing team of faculty, staff, community members with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, and their families to co-design and conduct OSUCDD research projects. Fellows will also collaborate on secondary research projects and community-engaged programming led by other OSUCDD faculty and staff. This is a full-time, 12-month appointment with the possibility of renewal for an additional one to two years based on performance, funding availability, and group needs. The anticipated start date is Spring 2026.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The successful candidate will hold a 100% research appointment and will be expected to:


Conduct both independent and collaborative research focused on individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and their families. Demonstrate deep knowledge of current research methodologies and approaches specific to individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and their families. Lead and manage research projects involving individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and their families. Employ advanced data collection techniques appropriate to the study of individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and their families. Contribute to the scholarly literature through peer-reviewed publications and presentations. Engage in interdisciplinary collaboration and support ongoing research initiatives within OSUCDD.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Doctoral Degree in the area of Human Development and Family Science, Disability Studies, Psychology, Allied Health, or a closely related field of study; Demonstrated interest/experience with community-engaged research alongside individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and/or their family members/supporters; Professional goal to develop an independent research career in this area.
