Position Summary
The Field Crew / Subcontracting role is essential to the successful execution of residential, commercial and/or industrial construction projects. Candidates must demonstrate professionalism, craftsmanship, and a commitment to safety and quality.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Site Preparation & Cleanup
Assist with site setup including fencing, signage, and temporary utilities.
Maintain a clean and organized work area throughout the project lifecycle.
Perform final site cleanup and debris removal upon project completion.
Construction Extraction
Perform tasks such as demolition, framing, drywall installation, painting, flooring, siding, roofing, and finish carpentry.
Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
Install fixtures, hardware, and other finish materials according to specifications.
Material Handling
Load, unload, and distribute building materials to appropriate locations on site.
Track and report material usage and shortages to the Superintendent or Construction Manager.
Quality Control
Inspect work for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with building codes and project specifications.
Identify and report defects or issues requiring correction.
Safey & Compliance
Collaborate with other trades and subcontractors to ensure efficient workflow.
Communicate clearly with supervisors regarding progress, delays, or issues.
Respond to direction from the Construction Manager promptly and professionally.
Documentation and Reporting
Record daily work activities and submit time logs or progress reports as required.
Document any incidents, delay, or change orders encountered onsite.
Equipment Operation (if applicable)
Operate machinery such as skid steers, forklifts, or compactors (with proper certification).
Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment used.
All other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
High School diploma or equivalent
Minimum of two (2) years in field construction experience
Ten (10) years of direct experience in field with progressive responsibility; or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred.
Position Qualifications
Minimum of 21 years of age
Must be able to pass criminal background check and drug screening.
Must possess and maintain valid drivers license.
Proven experience in one or more construction trades
Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings, preferred
Strong understanding of construction safety practices.
Reliable transportation to job sites.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Valid licenses or certifications for trade-specific work, if applicable.
Knowledge and Skills
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating a maintenance instruction, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in write, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

The employee will frequently use hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things. Perform general physical activities includes doing activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Specific hearing abilities required by this job include the ability to focus on and distinguish relevant sounds in a noisy environment, ability to hear and understand spoken instructions, detect warning signals such as backup alarms, emergency sirens or verbal alerts and the ability to recognize abnormal sounds from tools or equipment that may indicate malfunction or safety issues.
