Porter.

Work Schedule: Days/nights vary, including weekends


Shifts Available:


8:00pm-12:00am

Summary of duties:

Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them. Gather and empty trash. Service, clean, and supply restrooms. Clean and polish furniture and fixtures. Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment. Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees. Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures. Move furniture, equipment, and supplies, either manually or by using hand trucks. Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems. Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.

Requirements for our Porter Position:

Experience in building and warehouse cleaning work. Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved oral or written instructions. Communication skills to relate to officials, staff and public in a courteous manner. Disposition to perform other duties as assigned. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and safe handling for chemicals sheets/documents (generally in English; may have in Spanish where state required).*
