Description

Under the supervision of the Assistant Director and Swimming Pool Management, assists the public in the safe use of City aquatic facilities, responsible for the handling of cash from entry fees and concessions. Overall cleanliness and look of the water park and assist with various water park programs.

Duties

• Represent the Parks and Recreation Departmentby maintaining a professional attitude
• Attend all scheduled staff meetings
• Collects pool fees and other payments made to the pool.
• Maintains list of pool passes and locker rentals.
• Receives telephone calls and citizen visits concerning the swimming pool; handles questions; and responds to citizen\'s complaints.
• Operate concession area giving exceptional customer service and maintaining accurate reports
• Performs routine cleaning of facility, including bathrooms and concession area.
• Handle all incidents in a manner appropriate to your training
• Communicate any potentially dangerous elements of the facility to management
• Assist instructor with swim lessons.
• Perform the assigned duties of cashier, including administering first aid.
• Assist in pool programs and activities.
• Assist in enforcing rules and regulations of safety and conduct.
• Assist in keeping the pool area, restrooms and deck clean and free of litter.
• Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be at least 16 years of age and possess First Aid/CPR card prior to pool opening.

DESIRABLE SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

• Working knowledge of cash register.
• Able to maintain accurate reports.
• Ability to perform arithmetic computations accurately and quickly;
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing;
• Ability to establish successful working relationships;
• Ability to work under pressure and/or frequent interruptions.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Use of hands, arms and legs and other motor skills used for swimming skills. Ability to sit and work long periods of time in varying degrees of weather. Exposure to loud noise, bending, kneeling, walking on slippery surfaces, squatting; uses senses of vision, hearing and small to diagnose problems.

This job has been classified as a "safety sensitive" position as defined by the United States Department of Transportation drug and alcohol testing regulations, the Oklahoma Standards for Workplace Drug and Alcohol Testing Act and/or Oklahoma Medical Marijuana laws. In this position, you will be subject to drug and alcohol testing, and might include random testing. Marijuana is one of the substances included in the drug panel screening. Possession of a Medical Marijuana license will not excuse you from the testing process, or the consequences of testing positive for Marijuana.
