Job Summary:
We are seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Entry Level or Lateral Police Officers. We are currently creating a hiring list for anticipated openings in the near future. If you are currently certified as a Police Officer in Nevada or a state that has reciprocity with Nevada, or you have always wanted to be a Police Officer, consider joining our team. As a Winnemucca Police Officer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining law and order, protecting the community, and enforcing regulations.

Responsibilities:
- Patrol assigned areas to maintain public safety and order
- Respond to emergency calls and alarms
- Conduct investigations and gather evidence
- Arrest suspects and perpetrators of criminal acts
- Provide assistance to the public and ensure their safety
- Enforce traffic laws and regulations
- Prepare detailed reports on incidents and activities

Requirements:
- Nevada POST Category 1 Certificate or ability to obtain one through reciprocity
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background investigation
- Knowledge of law enforcement procedures and practices
- Valid Nevada driver's license or ability to obtain one prior to hiring
- Strong leadership skills and ability to make quick decisions
- Familiarity with criminal investigation techniques

Specifics:

- Patrol shifts are 12-hour shifts, working 3 days one week and 4 days the following week
- Annual leave, sick leave, and comp leave available

-$1,750 annual uniform allowance

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $27.41 - $37.55 per hour
