Major Objectives


The Plumbing Apprentice will support the plumbing team in the installation and maintenance of plumbing systems in multifamily communities. Under the guidance of experienced Journeymen and the Plumbing Superintendent, this individual will develop trade skills, assist with hands-on tasks, and learn the standards of quality, safety, and efficiency required in multifamily construction.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities


Assist with the installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing systems on assigned projects. Learn to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications under supervision. Handle, stage, and organize plumbing materials and tools on the job site. Support journeymen plumbers in preparing, cutting, measuring, and assembling pipes and fittings. Operate basic hand tools and assist with power tool operation safely. Help inspect plumbing work and learn to identify potential issues or deficiencies. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment. Participate in safety meetings and follow all company safety protocols and building code regulations. Document tasks completed and report progress or issues to the Superintendent. Perform additional duties as assigned to support the plumbing division. Other duties as assigned.

Prerequisites


Interest in pursuing a career in plumbing; willingness to learn and grow. Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to follow instructions. Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand tools. Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting 50+ pounds, standing, bending, and working in various weather conditions. Commitment to adhering to safety standards, building codes, and company policies. Basic math skills for measuring and calculating.

Physical Demands


Ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, use commercial heavy tools, work outside, use heavy equipment (excavator, compactor, skid steer, lull), install at multiple phases of work.
