Job Description

The Player Assistant/Marshal is responsible for providing an exceptional member experience through multiple points of contact including the first tee and on the golf course. Supervised by:

• Director of Golf
• Golf Shop Staff

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Monitor and enforce pace of play policy
• Relay and enforce information on course care and maintenance such as repairing ball marks, replacing divots, and raking sand traps.
• Inform golfers about course policies and let a golfer know when they might be in violation of a course policy
• Look for opportunities to care for the course, repair a ball mark, replace a divot, rake a bunker.
• Aid any group on the golf course as needed
• Remain in radio contact with the golf shop staff and golf service attendants
• Direct golfers around the course, if they are unfamiliar with the layout
• Check in with the superintendent for any special instructions either directly or indirectly through the golf shop
• Assist in keeping the golf course clean
• Relay and enforce information on golf cart rules such as cart path only on Par 3s and entering and exiting the fairways through the green and white stakes
• Relay and enforce dress code
• Remind golfers to use the sand and seed bottles provided by the golf course to help with course care
• Maintain an adequate supply of scorecards, pencils, tees, divot repair tools, pin placement sheets, local rules, ball markers, towels, etc.

Knowledge/Experience

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Effective communications skills, speaking, listening and responding
• Good working knowledge of the game of golf
• Ability to follow and take directions from a supervisor
• Service and member focused attitude

Physical

• Required to stand for long periods and walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch and twist or reach.
• Push, pull or lift up to 50 pounds.
• Continuous repetitive motions.
• Work in cold, hot, humid, and noisy environment.
• Comfortable working outside in all weather conditions

Job Type: Part-time Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour Schedule:

• Weekend availability
