POSITION SUMMARY



The Plant Supervisor - Night Shift is responsible for leading night shift production operations to ensure all products meet customer quality requirements, scheduling goals, and cost objectives. This role provides direct supervision, coaching, and development of team members across stamping and related manufacturing areas, while driving continuous improvement in safety, quality, delivery, and efficiency. The Supervisor works cross-functionally with Quality, Tooling, Maintenance, and Engineering to ensure smooth operations, compliance to standards, and resolution of production challenges.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES



Leadership & Workforce Management



Supervise, coach, and evaluate night shift employees, including operators, area leads, and production support staff. Enforce company policies, safety protocols, environmental guidelines, and performance standards. Ensure employees are trained and competent in safety, machine setup, quality checks, and operational procedures. Foster teamwork, accountability, and adherence to 5S and continuous improvement practices. Stand in for other supervisors or managers as needed.

Production & Efficiency



Direct labor and equipment resources to meet production schedules and planned hours. Monitor and analyze daily production data (OEE, scrap rates, schedule adherence) and address discrepancies. Take corrective actions to meet efficiency and output goals while maintaining quality. Ensure machines, tooling, and setups are performed correctly and efficiently. Run production if required to support throughput.

Quality Assurance



Partner with Quality to ensure conformance to specifications and customer requirements. Audit ongoing processes and product to assure continued compliance. Facilitate quick disposition of suspect or nonconforming material, establishing a "clean point" and containment where necessary. Promote problem solving, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives. Collaborate on the creation and enforcement of Work Instructions and quality check sheets.

Tooling & Maintenance Support



Communicate machine and tooling maintenance needs; initiate and follow up on repair requests. Work with Engineering and Die Repair teams to troubleshoot and improve dies, setups, and equipment reliability. Verify that sensor systems and safety mechanisms are functioning properly.

Continuous Improvement & Reporting



Lead CI initiatives to reduce downtime, scrap, and setup times. Recommend process improvements for efficiency, cost reduction, and safety. Participate in 5S and Lean/CI team meetings. Document, analyze, and share production and quality data with Plant Management.

Other Duties



Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment. Exercise judgment, independence, and discretion in decision-making. Perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS



Education



High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree preferred. 2-year technical degree in manufacturing, engineering, or related field preferred.

Experience



3-5 years of supervisory or lead experience in a manufacturing environment. Hands-on knowledge of stamping presses, multi-slide equipment, and/or related metal forming operations. Proven ability to interpret blueprints, control plans, and work instructions. Experience with quality assurance practices, precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers), and production auditing. Background in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement preferred.

Skills & Competencies



Strong leadership, coaching, and communication skills. Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making ability. Mechanical aptitude with knowledge of tooling, setups, and machine troubleshooting. Solid understanding of production scheduling and efficiency metrics (OEE, scrap, throughput). Proficient in documenting and analyzing production and quality data.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT



Frequent standing, walking, bending, and mobility across the production floor. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. and work with hands for extended periods. Exposure to manufacturing environment conditions: noise, dust, vibration, and metal particles. Requires use of PPE (safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, etc.). Role demands independence, judgment, and discretion in managing people and processes.

SCHEDULE



Night Shift: Sunday-Thursday, 8:00 PM - 6:00 AM (with potential for overtime or Saturdays). On-site role requiring flexibility to support other shifts if necessary.
Pay: From $50,000.00 per year
