We are seeking a highly experienced and self-sufficient
Plant Manager
to lead our new plastic extrusion facility. This individual will serve as the
site leader and face of the business in the region
, responsible for the overall performance of the plant, including safety, production, P&L accountability, people leadership, facilities, maintenance, and customer relationships. The Plant Manager will oversee all functions at the facility, including
HR, Production Management, Safety, Quality, Procurement, Logistics, and Environmental compliance
.
The ideal candidate is a proven manufacturing leader with extensive experience in driving operational excellence, building high-performing teams, and maintaining a strong safety culture. Candidates with experience in plastic extrusion and recycling are highly preferred. This is a critical leadership role for the organization, requiring exceptional business acumen, customer engagement skills, and the ability to deliver both short-term results and long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Safety & Compliance
Champion a
world-class safety culture
and ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory requirements.
Implement and enforce safety programs, policies, and practices that protect employees, equipment, and the environment.
Lead environmental stewardship efforts, including recycling, waste management, and sustainability initiatives.
Production & P&L Management
Take full ownership of the facility's
P&L performance
, driving revenue growth, cost control, and profitability.
Develop and execute production strategies aligned with company goals and customer requirements.
Optimize plant performance through continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, and Six Sigma methodologies.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and ensure operational excellence across all areas.
Operational Planning & Scheduling
Develop and manage production schedules to meet customer delivery expectations while balancing efficiency and cost.
Ensure effective use of resources, including labor, equipment, and raw materials.
Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to manage inventory and logistics effectively.
People Leadership & Organizational Development
Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse team across multiple disciplines (HR, production, maintenance, quality, safety, logistics).
Build a
culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
.
Establish clear performance goals, conduct regular reviews, and support career development of staff.
Drive employee engagement and retention through recognition, communication, and professional growth opportunities.
Quality Assurance
Ensure the highest standards of product quality and consistency in line with customer expectations.
Oversee quality control systems, audits, and continuous improvement efforts to reduce defects and waste.
Partner with engineering and R&D teams to implement new product and process innovations.
Maintenance & Facilities Management
Oversee preventative and predictive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend asset life.
Ensure plant facilities, equipment, and utilities are maintained to support safe and efficient operations.
Lead capital improvement projects and site infrastructure planning.
Customer & Community Engagement
Act as the
primary representative of the company in the region
, fostering strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and community stakeholders.
Support business development activities, including sales growth, customer visits, and contract negotiations.
Maintain the company's reputation as a trusted, reliable, and innovative partner.
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field.
10+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience
, with at least 5 years as a site leader, plant manager, or equivalent.
Proven experience with
full P&L accountability
and delivering financial results.
Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams, including HR, production, quality, safety, procurement, and maintenance.
Strong knowledge of
safety and environmental compliance
standards.
Track record of implementing
lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and cost reduction initiatives
.
Exceptional communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to thrive in a remote, autonomous environment.
Preferred:
Master's degree in Business or Engineering.
Experience in
plastic extrusion, recycling, or related polymer manufacturing processes.
Certification in Lean Six Sigma, PMP, or similar continuous improvement methodologies.
Experience leading capital projects and major facility expansions.
Strong customer-facing and business development skills.

Travel:
Up to 25% travel required for corporate meetings, customer visits, and industry events.

Ability to regularly walk and stand on the production floor and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $120,000.00 - $175,000.00 per year
