Job Title: Controller

Job Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Controller to join our team. The Controller will play a key role in overseeing the financial management and accounting operations of our corrugated sheet manufacturing facility. This position requires a strong background in manufacturing finance, cost accounting, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to drive financial performance and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Planning and Analysis:

Develop and manage financial planning processes, including annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning aligned with business goals. Conduct financial analysis, performance monitoring, and variance analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and risks. Provide insightful recommendations to senior management for strategic decision-making and resource allocation.

Cost Management and Control:

Oversee cost accounting processes, including standard cost development, variance analysis, and inventory valuation. Monitor manufacturing costs, analyze cost drivers, and implement cost-saving initiatives to improve profitability. Ensure accurate and timely cost reporting and analysis to support operational decisions.

Financial Reporting and Compliance:

Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP and company policies. Coordinate and manage audits, tax filings, and regulatory compliance requirements. Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure financial integrity.

Cash Flow Management and Treasury Operations:

Manage cash flow forecasting and liquidity planning to support operational needs and capital investments. Oversee treasury functions, including banking relationships, credit facilities, and cash management. Monitor accounts receivable and accounts payable processes to optimize working capital management.

Strategic Planning and Decision Support:

Collaborate with senior management to develop and evaluate strategic initiatives, business plans, and investment decisions. Conduct financial modeling and scenario analysis to assess the financial impact of business strategies and capital investments. Support business development efforts by providing financial insights and participating in customer and supplier negotiations.

Team Leadership and Development:

Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional development. Provide guidance, training, and performance feedback to ensure the team meets organizational objectives and individual career goals. Promote ethical behavior, integrity, and adherence to financial policies and regulatory requirements throughout the organization.
Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred. Proven experience as a Controller or similar role in a manufacturing environment, preferably within the corrugated box or packaging industry. Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles, financial reporting standards (GAAP), and regulatory compliance requirements. Advanced proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle). Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and levels.
