Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Plan Review Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will hold current registration as a Civil, Structural, Mechanical Engineer, or Architect (California registration preferred) and have at least two years of experience in plan review and/or building design for commercial, industrial, and residential projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Review building plans and prepare clear, concise written comment letters on design submittals. Conduct plan reviews for structural and non-structural disciplines. Perform short-term on-site plan review assignments as needed. Participate in client and project team meetings to discuss project progress and compliance. Provide expert interpretations of building codes and related standards to assist clients and design teams. Collaborate with the quality control team to resolve plan review issues. Support the document control team by maintaining accurate project information, schedules, and status updates.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Architectural Engineering from an accredited institution. Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Plan Check Engineer or Plans Examiner on building projects. Current registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) or Licensed Architect (State of California preferred). ICC Building Plans Examiner Certification preferred. Strong knowledge of the California Building Standards Code (Title 24) and related codes. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a proactive, problem-solving mindset. Valid California driver's license required.
