Cochon King BBQ is a small family-owned restaurant in Gentilly. We take pride in providing our award-winning BBQ to the people of New Orleans.
We are family-owned and operated, with a small krewe managing and executing things on the daily. We have this brick-and-mortar on Franklin Avenue, as well as a food truck (The Pig Truck) that you can find around town. Additionally, we operate a very successful catering business that is known for our festival vending and on-site catering of boiled seafood, award-winning BBQ, and Louisiana fare.

General Responsibilities:
- Work in our FOH slicing meats to order
- Assist with meat prep & sausage making
- Ensure all food is prepared and presented in a timely manner
- Follow proper food handling and sanitation procedures
- Collaborate with other FOH and kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Interest in BBQ
- Strong knowledge of food service and kitchen techniques
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent knife skills for food preparation
- Familiarity with the BBQ world and smoked meats
- Experience in the food industry, catering, or similar roles
- Knowledge of proper food handling and safety protocols
In terms of availability, we mainly need someone who is available from 11-Close (either 7 or 8pm) on Wednesday-Sunday. We are closed Mon/Tues, so you will always have these days off.
As a Meat Slicer, you will play a crucial role in our restaurant by helping prepare and plate meals for our customers. Your attention to detail, kitchen skills, and ability to work efficiently will contribute to the success of our restaurant. Please note that this position may require standing for periods of time and lifting heavy objects. Prior experience as a Line Cook or in a similar role is preferred!
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 - 30 per week
