Boulder Community Health is seeking a Physical Therapy Sports Resident. The Orthopedic Residency is a 50-52-week orthopedic physical therapy experience designed to advance the knowledge and skills of the resident physical therapist through higher continuing education, evidence-based practice, clinical mentorship, and didactic learning. In addition to direct patient care, the resident has additional clinical and non-clinical tasks and responsibilities delegated to them that include didactic course work, journal clubs, and clinical research.

Qualifications
Current Colorado state license for Physical Therapy.
BLS Certification by the end of the Conditional Period
Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program
Knowledge, skill, and ability to apply patient evaluations, treatments, procedures, and standards to clinical practice in the area of Sports Medicine & Orthopedic Physical Therapy
Clinical competencies achieved by completion of required clinical internships.
Responsibilities
Completes all required educational activities, which may include assigned readings, self-learning modules, didactic work, journal clubs, and all remaining activities as described in the residency handbook and curriculum.
Consistent and on-time attendance is an essential function of the position.
Evaluates patients with appropriate tests and measures to determine goals, problems, and course of treatment and necessary therapeutic procedures/modalities.
Selects and establishes physical therapy diagnosis.
Formulates and maintains an individualized patient plan of care based on long and short-term goals.
Implementation skills: Provides treatment using appropriate tools and demonstrates a complete knowledge of patient management.
Assesses patient response to treatment and revises plan of care as indicated.
Promotes effective communication and teamwork with team members, the hospital, and other contacts.
Completes documentation of evaluations, plans, treatment procedures, assessment, and patient progress. Completes all other paperwork as assigned in a timely manner.
Initiates and is responsible for problem solving and decision making with relation to patient care.
Functions as an advocate for the patient within the rehabilitation system.
