The Physical Therapy Receptionist/Insurance Benefit Verification Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth operations at a physical therapy office. The specialist serves as the first point of contact for patients while also facilitating the financial and administrative processes that support quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Front Desk Reception:
Greet patients and visitors in a professional, friendly manner.
Answer incoming phone calls, respond to inquiries, and direct calls appropriately.
Schedule patient appointments and manage the clinic's calendar.
Collect patient information and ensure the accuracy of records.
Handle check-ins, check-outs, co payments, and manage patient flow throughout the office.
Insurance Benefit Verification:
Contact insurance companies to verify patient benefits and coverage for physical therapy services.
Document insurance information in patient records and communicate coverage details to both patients and therapists.
Obtain prior authorizations and referrals as required by insurance providers.
Assist patients in understanding their insurance benefits, co-pays, deductibles, and out-of-pocket expenses.
Administrative Support:
Process patient paperwork, including new patient registration and consent forms.
Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Assist with billing processes and collaborate with billing specialists.
Monitor and replenish office supplies, ensuring the reception area remains organized and welcoming.
Required Skills and Qualifications
