SUMMARY

: The Physical Therapy Assistant supports licensed Physical Therapists by carrying out treatment plans, guiding patients through exercises, monitoring progress, and documenting care. This role helps patients improve mobility, manage pain, and regain independence in daily activities. This is a non-exempt, full-time position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



Implements and administers patient treatment plans under the guidance of the Physical Therapist. Immediately notify the supervising physical therapist of any new or worsening symptoms. Monitors and documents any changes or lack of progress during treatment. Instructs patients on physical therapy interventions and home exercise programs. Applies modalities and manual techniques as directed by the supervising physical therapist. Verifies patient information by conducting interviews, recording medical history, and confirming the purpose of the physical medicine and rehabilitation visit. Prepares patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests, including taking blood pressure and recording height, weight, and temperature; reports patient history summaries. Performs duties within the scope of practice of the Physical Therapy Assistant. Promotes patient and family understanding of educational content and involvement in the plan of care; documents interactions in the patient record. Secures patient information and maintains confidentiality by safeguarding patient medical records; completes diagnostic and procedure coding in accordance with HIPAA guidelines. Assists in gym cleaning, organization of supplies and maintenance. Assists Physical Medicine doctors with gathering necessary information for insurance authorizations and verifications. Responds promptly to requests for information from therapists, patients, and other providers. Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:



Associate's degree. Active Nevada Physical Therapy Assistant license. 2-5 years of clinical experience, preferably in pediatrics, oncology, hematology, or neurology. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:



Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program and Nevada licensure.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:



General knowledge of physical therapy modalities, safe patient handling techniques, and body mechanics. Ability to handle difficult situations involving patients, physicians, or others in a professional manner. Attention to detail and strong organization skills. Communication skills for patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:



Frequently required to use full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients. Position frequently requires light to moderate work with 50 pounds maximum weight to lift and carry. Frequently required to reach, bend, stoop, and handle objects with hands and/or fingers, talking and/or hearing, and seeing.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

: Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.

POST OFFER:

Compensation range commensurate with experience. Candidates will receive the compensation range during the initial interview.



Shift Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00AM to 4:30PM
