Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) Aegis Health Care is hiring Healthcare Heroes!
Aegis Home Health is currently seeking a compassionate Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) that has a passion for providing outstanding services to the elderly in Senior Living Communities and in-home health settings. This is full-time position working in the Anchorage, Alaska area.
Each Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) is an important part of the Aegis Health Care team. Aegis specializes in providing care for home health patients in home settings and in senior living communities. A Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) administers physical therapy to patients on an intermittent basis in their place of residence. This is performed in accordance with physician orders and plan of care under the direction and supervision of the Physical Therapist (PT).   • Provide physician prescribed physical therapy under a plan of care established by the PT
  • Improve or minimize residual physical disabilities of the patient
  • Return the patient to optimum and productive levels (within patient capability)
  • Participate with all other health care personnel in patient care planning
  • Perform all skilled procedures as ordered by the physician and according to the plan of care established by the PT
  • Consult with PT regarding change in treatment
  • Participate in educating the patient and the patient\'s family
  • Participate in QAPI and in-service programs as assigned
  • Attend all patient care conferences as scheduled
  • Prepare medical records, progress notes and update care plans for each patient visit in a timely manner as per policy

Skills & Qualifications:
Graduate from a two-year college level program approved by the American Physical Therapy Association
  • Currently licensed, registered or certified in the state of practice
  • Minimum of 2 years related experience preferred
  • Compassionate and caring attitude
  • Ability to exercise initiative and independent judgement
  • Valid driver\'s license, clean driving record, and reliable automobile
  • Proof of current automobile insurance
  • Criminal background check clearance/fingerprint clearance
  • Negative TB test

Working Environment:
Works indoors in Home Health office and patient homes and travels to/from patient homes. Risk Exposure: High risk Lifting Requirements: Ability to perform the following tasks if necessary:
  • Ability to participate in physical activity.
  • Ability to work for an extended period of time while standing and being involved in physical activity.
  • Heavy lifting.
  • Ability to do extensive bending, lifting and standing on a regular basis.
