We are seeking a reliable, dedicated, and compassionate Physical Therapy Aide/Front Desk Help to join our team. In this role, you will assist physical therapists in providing high-quality patient care in our outpatient facility. Your contributions will be vital in helping patients recover from injuries, surgeries, and other medical conditions. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of anatomy and physiology, as well as experience in patient service and care.
Employees will also help with basic front desk work including, but not limited to: preparing patient charts, patient check-ins, answering phones, filing, etc. Basic computer skills needed, Word and Excel preferred.
*Must be available Tuesdays 8-12p and Fridays 8-5p and occasional Saturdays 8-12p. There may be opportunities for picking up extra shifts. There is on the job training and a 3-month probation period.
Responsibilities
Assist physical therapists with patient intake and preparation for therapy sessions.
Help patients with exercises and mobility tasks under the supervision of licensed therapists.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the therapy area, ensuring all equipment is sanitized and ready for use.
Document patient progress and report any changes to the supervising therapist.
Educate patients on proper techniques for exercises and activities to promote recovery.
Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing patient records.
Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Assisting with preparing patient charts for new patients.
Answering phones professionally.
Filing and organizing office.
Scheduling patients.
Qualifications
Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology is preferred.
Previous experience in a hospital or clinical setting is highly desirable, particularly in acute care or outpatient environments.
Familiarity with orthopedics, geriatrics, sub-acute care, or post-acute care experience is a plus, but not necessary.
Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to care.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also demonstrating initiative in individual tasks.
Basic Computer Skills: Word and Excel
Strong communication skills to interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals effectively.
