Job Summary

The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) plays a vital role in the rehabilitation process, working under the supervision of licensed physical therapists to assist patients in recovering from injuries, surgeries, or chronic conditions. The PTA will implement treatment plans, monitor patient progress, and provide support to enhance mobility and overall physical function. This position is essential in various settings including skilled nursing facilities, home health care, and outpatient clinics.

Duties

Assist physical therapists in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans based on patient needs. Conduct therapeutic exercises and activities to improve patients' strength, flexibility, and mobility. Monitor patient progress and report any changes or concerns to the supervising physical therapist. Educate patients and their families on exercises, techniques, and equipment usage for home care. Maintain accurate documentation of patient treatments and progress notes in compliance with facility policies. Ensure a safe environment by adhering to safety protocols and infection control measures. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care for patients. Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program. Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and principles of physical therapy practice. Experience or knowledge in sports medicine, orthopedics, geriatrics, manual therapy and outpatient settings is preferred. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients (bilingual preferred), families, and healthcare team members. Ability to demonstrate compassion and patience while working with diverse patient populations. Commitment to continuous learning and professional growth within the field of physical therapy.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $31.00 - $36.00 per hour
