The Physical Security Project Manager position is responsible for proactively managing the technical installation and periodic support of physical security systems to internal UL customers. The person who fills this position is part technical support specialist, part customer champion, and part relationship manager. To be successful, it requires you to coordinate the installation of security systems, evaluate technical problems and coordinate the remediation response, and effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
Managing the implementation of small to medium projects.
Acts as front-line contact on project related activities, issues, and risks.
Adheres to program and project governance (controls).
Coordinates the projects and their interdependencies.
Ensures that all assigned installation projects are handled properly in accordance with company policies and procedures, are timely completed, and are completed in accordance with budget.
Drive issue resolution using standard process/procedures in coordination with supporting resources.
Proactively manage, measure and track tickets and or issues to ensure timely resolution.
Escalate issues as appropriate. Apply fundamental troubleshooting skills to evaluate issues.
Attend scheduled meetings with our client team and provide status updates on ongoing projects.
Provide timely status updates, root-cause analysis and strategies to address issues.
Manage the execution and review of all scope of work, terms, and conditions in contracts.
Oversee the design of projects that are compliant with UL security standards or other potential design criteria.
Host and participate in design workgroups to coordinate all physical and electronic security matters of design.
2-year degree, or security industry specific training certifications can be used as a substitute.
2-years of technical project management experience required.
Electrical theory
Basic knowledge of Access Control Systems (ACS), Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), and Video Management Systems (VMS).
Basic knowledge and understanding of IT networking principles.
Adept at working on a computer and working with Microsoft Office tools (Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams).
Strong planning, organization and time management skills
Ability to carry out multiple assignments concurrently.
Strong facilitation, collaboration, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Understanding of job safety practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
Physical Security Professional (PSP) or Associate Protection Professional (APP) Certification
5 years of technical project management experience.
Preferred 2 years' experience in either installation or design of physical security systems.
Electrical theory
Knowledge of door hardware and applications.
Advanced knowledge of Access Control Systems (ACS), Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), and Video Management Systems (VMS).
Advanced knowledge and understanding of IT networking principles.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams).
