Phlebotomy Technician I Pathology Outpatient Clinic

Job Description

The Department of Pathology is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician Ito perform phlebotomy/specimen collection, and a variety of laboratory tasks related to phlebotomy: labeling specimens, telephone inquiries, and distribution of phlebotomy supplies. This position is 100% time, Monday - Friday, between 0700-1800.



Duties to include:

Performs phlebotomy draws. Performs computer data entry and other clerical tasks as required. Orders, receives, and distributes supplies. Responds to basic phlebotomy inquiries and otherwise represents assigned and related work areas. Administer select medications as designated per protocol.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:




High school graduation or equivalent.




Special Qualifications (if appropriate):




Previous public contact/customer service experience


Desirable Qualifications:




Completion of a phlebotomy training program or previous phlebotomy experience is desirable.


Minimum 6 months previous experience working in a healthcare setting is desirable.


Basic computer skills are desirable.


Previous experience with Personal Protective Equipment is desirable.


Previous patient contact experience is desirable.
