Job Responsibilities:

• Drawing blood is the primary duty of the phlebotomists.
• Using of equipment like needles, disposable containers, alcohol, gauze etc. for fulfilling their responsibilities.
• Drawing blood through a number of blood collection procedures.
• Making sure that the patients are not suffering from any kind of infection due to the complexity of the procedure.
• Finding an accessible vein before going ahead with the process of drawing blood.
• Keeping the phlebotomy region clean and keeping enough stock available in the place.
• Maintaining the trays and keeping them clean in order to maintain the cleanliness of the process.
• Working in close association with the doctors and nurses for the smooth functioning of the process.
• Labeling and transporting the blood once it is withdrawn.
• Performing different types of diagnostic tests on the blood that is collected.
• Interpreting of the blood results
• Ability to use different types of equipment\'s needed to draw blood
• Ability to interpret the blood results

• High School diploma
• Programs which include both classroom and clinical proponents need to be taken.
• Phlebotomy certificate, CPR
