We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team. We KNOW that your work is not easy. The ideal candidate will be responsible for collecting blood samples and other specimens from patients with professionalism and compassion. Compassion is a HUGE part of this role. We are here to BUILD the patients, not tear them down. This role requires a thorough understanding of laboratory procedures, patient care, and safety protocols to ensure accurate testing and a positive patient experience. Prior laboratory or clinical experience is preferred, along with strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology. The Phlebotomist will play a vital role in supporting diagnostic processes and contributing to patient health outcomes.
Responsibilities
Perform venipuncture and capillary blood sampling using aseptic techniques to ensure specimen integrity
Collect blood, urine, or other specimens from patients accurately and efficiently
Prepare specimens for laboratory testing, including labeling, processing, and documentation
Monitor and record vital signs as needed during patient interactions
Maintain patient comfort and provide excellent patient service throughout procedures
Follow strict safety protocols to prevent contamination or infection during specimen collection
Ensure proper handling, storage, and transportation of specimens according to laboratory standards
Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work environment in compliance with health regulations
Document all procedures accurately in accordance with hospital or laboratory policies
Experience
Previous laboratory experience or clinical laboratory experience preferred
Knowledge of laboratory techniques, including specimen collection and processing
Familiarity with medical terminology related to blood sampling and patient care
Experience with venipuncture, blood sampling, and phlebotomy procedures required
Understanding of anatomy and physiology relevant to specimen collection sites
Experience working in hospitals or healthcare settings is advantageous (though not required)
Strong communication skills for effective patient interaction and team collaboration
