Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Phlebotomist at our facility you will be an integral part of our Laboratory team. We are a highly functioning team that supports many different departments and has a passion for providing the best patient care through compassionate, professional interactions and reliable testing. In this role:

\xc2\xb7 You will collect blood samples and body fluids from patients for laboratory testing including blood cultures and arterial samples for blood gas analysis.

\xc2\xb7 You will register specimens and orders tests in LIS and prepare/label samples for internal or external testing.

\xc2\xb7 You will communicate lab test requests and results to appropriate staff, departments, and/or physicians.

\xc2\xb7 You will collect and document urine drug screens requiring chain of custody and breath alcohol when required.

\xc2\xb7 You will assist with in-services or training as assigned.

\xc2\xb7 You will assist with administrative duties within the laboratory.

Qualifications:

\xc2\xb7 Phlebotomy Certification required.

\xc2\xb7 One year of phlebotomy experience or equivalent phlebotomy training program.

\xc2\xb7 Excellent communication/people skills and problem solving skills.

\xc2\xb7 Computer skills and filing/clerical skills.

\xc2\xb7 High attention to detail and accuracy.

\xc2\xb7 American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification.

\xc2\xb7 Valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license.
