Duties/Responsibilities

Plant and maintain plants. ex) Remove weeds, fertilize, water plants, shrubs, and trees Requires use of hand tools and gardening tools Harvest plants, and transplant or pot them with proper labels Monitor and record the plants' leaf coloring to detect the presence of insects or disease Operate tractors, other machinery, and fertilizing equipment Cultivate, harvest, and spray fields and plants Inspect plants to assess quality Dig, cut, and transplant seedlings, cuttings, trees, and shrubs Move containerized shrubs, plants, and trees, using wheelbarrows or tractors Clean work areas and maintain grounds and landscaping Haul and spread topsoil, fertilizer, peat moss, and other materials to condition soil, using wheelbarrows or carts and shovels Maintain and repair irrigation and climate control system Responsible and safe application of both granular and liquid fertilizer, herbicides, and pesticides in adherence to all local and state regulations Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Education and Experience

A high school education/GED and 1+ years of retail sales experience or the equivalent combination of education, experience and/or training Minimum 1 year experience with chemical or spray applications or 4 or more years' experience in the green industry Strong attention to detail Pesticide applicators license or in process Valid driver's license Adhere to Company's safety policy and ensure that the public and co-workers will be safe while performing job duties

Constantly required to talk, hear, see, sit, stand, and walk Must be able to see at close vision, distant vision, peripherally, have depth perception and can adjust focus Frequent use of hands to manipulate, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls Frequently required to reach, bend, twist, stoop, crouch, climb and balance Must be able to lift 50 pounds and carry 50 feet Occasionally works with mechanical objects and outside in all weather conditions Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals Occasionally exposed to loud noise levels
