Job Summary
The Pharmacy Technician receives and fills prescription requests for patients and maintains patient records. The Technician provides excellent customer service and assists the Pharmacist in meeting department operational requirements.
Essential Functions
Retrieves, pours, counts, labels, and reconstitutes prescription medications
Accesses, inputs, and retrieves information through the pharmacy's computer network to maintain accurate records
Packages and labels products under the supervision of the Pharmacist
Obtains refill authorizations from prescribers
Processes and prepares third-party insurance claims
Coordinates prescriptions with providers, clients, and third parties
Maintains pharmacy inventory
Prepares reports related to sales, usage, and inventory
Maintains and cleans equipment, work areas, and shelves
Follows agency documentation policies for all phases of treatment and client care.
Collaborates with internal and external multidisciplinary teams regarding clinical aspects of treatment.
Adheres to ethical and legal standards set by licensing boards and state regulations.
Participates in ongoing professional development activities to meet licensure, certification, and/or other agency requirements
