Pharmacy Prior Authorization Coordinator

Were hiring a Prior Authorization Coordinator - Pharmacy to join a growing, patient-focused healthcare team in Edmond, Oklahoma. This role is for someone who understands insurance complexity, knows how to cut through red tape, and takes pride in helping patients get the medications they need--without delays, denials, or confusion.

Pharmacy Services Supervisor

Location:

Edmond, OK (onsite)

Schedule:

Monday-Thursday: 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
Friday: 8:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.

What You'll Be Doing:

You'll work closely with providers, insurance companies, and patients to ensure medications are authorized, covered, and delivered without unnecessary obstacles.

Your day-to-day will include:

Verifying prescription benefits and patient eligibility Submitting and tracking prior authorizations Reprocessing claims and resolving coverage issues Communicating clearly with patients about next steps and timelines Connecting patients with copay assistance and savings programs Navigating PBM policies, step therapy, and formularies Removing barriers that delay or prevent medication access Maintaining accurate documentation in the EHR (Liberty experience is a plus) Collaborating with clinic staff to ensure timely medication delivery Protecting patient privacy and following HIPAA guidelines

What Were Looking For Experience:?

?2+ years in pharmacy, prior authorizations, benefits verification, or insurance billing Specialty pharmacy experience is a plus Liberty EHR experience is a bonus

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent

Licensure:

Oklahoma Pharmacy Technician license preferred, not required with relevant experience Tech Skills: CoverMyMeds Microsoft Office EHR systems

Do you have at least 1 year of hands-on Prior Authorization experience? Have you handled prior authorizations for controlled substances or high-cost medications? Have you used PA systems like CoverMyMeds, payer portals, or EMR-integrated PA tools? Do you have experience working with both commercial insurance plans and government payers (Medicare/Medicaid)? Do you have experience calling insurance companies to check status, clarify requirements, or appeal denials? Have you worked with pharmacists to gather clinical documentation for prior auth submissions? Have you worked directly with Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs) such as OptumRx, Express Scripts, Prime, CVS/Caremark, or MedImpact? Are you able to commute to Edmond and work onsite Monday - Thursday (8am -5pm) and Fridays (8am - 1pm)?
