Position Overview

Assists with operational and all distribution responsibilities as they are related to Pharmacy Technician functions including Orlando Health software and hardware systems.

Essential Functions

Understands and follows safety, emergency, and risk management procedures. Demonstrates alignment with Orlando Health's mission, values, and customer service standards. Performs general duties and processes within the Pharmacy department with accuracy and professionalism. Collaborates effectively with other departments and resource personnel to support patient care and customer service. Operates pharmacy equipment safely and in accordance with policies and procedures. Executes basic Pharmacy Technician tasks consistent with scientific principles and organizational guidelines. Assists pharmacists in medication distribution, including: + Drug procurement
+ Aseptic admixture techniques (e.g., chemotherapy)
+ Use of automated dispensing cabinets
Maintains compliance with

USP 797 standards

and other regulatory documentation. Ensures safe handling and proper disposal of medications. May be cross-trained in specialty pharmacy technician functions based on departmental needs. Completes special projects as assigned. Maintains regular and punctual attendance in accordance with Orlando Health policies and applicable laws (ADA, FMLA). Adheres to all Orlando Health policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

Education & Training:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Licensure/Certification:

Must maintain current Pharmacy Technician registration with the Florida State Board of Pharmacy.

Experience:

* Entry-level to one (1) year of experience as a pharmacy technician preferred.
