Job Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will support pharmacy operations by preparing and dispensing medications, assisting with patient care, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. This role offers an opportunity to work in diverse settings including LTC pharmacies, hospitals, and acute care environments, providing critical support to healthcare professionals and patients alike.

Duties



Prepare and dispense medications accurately in accordance with prescriptions and protocols Assist pharmacists with medication administration, including IV infusion preparation and aseptic techniques Manage medication intake processes, ensuring proper documentation and patient records Provide exceptional patient service by addressing inquiries and delivering medication-related information Support patient care activities, including medication reconciliation and education Maintain inventory levels, check for expired medications, and ensure proper storage procedures Follow safety procedures related to aseptic technique and infection control standards Collaborate with healthcare teams in hospital or acute care settings to ensure timely medication delivery Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements related to pharmacy operations

Qualifications



Proven pharmacy technician experience, preferably in LTC pharmacy, hospital, or acute care environments Knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration, and IV infusion procedures Critical care experience is a plus; familiarity with patient service and patient care protocols highly valued Strong understanding of aseptic techniques and medication safety standards Ability to work effectively in fast-paced settings while maintaining attention to detail Certification as a pharmacy technician is preferred; ongoing education or training in pharmacy practice is advantageous Excellent communication skills and a compassionate approach to patient interaction Ability to adapt quickly to new systems and procedures within healthcare environments

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $17.00 - $25.00 per hour
