Duties
Prepare and dispense medications accurately under the supervision of licensed pharmacists, including IV infusions and aseptic techniques for sterile compounding.
Manage medication inventory levels, ensuring proper storage, labeling, and documentation to maintain compliance with safety standards.
Assist with patient intake processes by verifying prescriptions, updating medical records, and providing clear medication instructions.
Support critical care and acute care teams by delivering timely medication administration and ensuring proper handling of sensitive drugs.
Maintain thorough documentation of medication transactions, including medication administration records (MAR) and inventory logs.
Apply medical terminology knowledge to interpret prescriptions accurately and communicate effectively with healthcare professionals.
Uphold strict aseptic techniques during sterile compounding procedures to prevent contamination and ensure patient safety.
Experience
Previous pharmacy technician experience in LTC pharmacy, hospital, or acute care settings is highly preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration protocols, and pharmacy operations.
Experience with IV infusion preparation and aseptic technique is a strong asset.
Critical care or hospital experience that highlights your ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments.
Familiarity with pharmacy software systems and inventory management tools.
Strong commitment to patient service and patient care excellence through attentive communication and precise medication handling.
