Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting the pharmacy operations, ensuring that patients receive their medications safely and efficiently. You will work closely with pharmacists and healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care in various settings, including long-term care (LTC) and acute care environments.

Responsibilities

Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications accurately and efficiently. Maintain inventory of pharmaceuticals and supplies, ensuring proper storage and handling. Process medication orders, including intake and verification of prescriptions. Provide patient service by answering questions regarding medications and health inquiries. Utilize aseptic technique for IV infusion preparation as required. Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure optimal patient care outcomes. Document medication administration and maintain accurate patient records. Stay informed about medical terminology and pharmacy practices to enhance service delivery.

Skills

Experience in LTC pharmacy or hospital settings is highly desirable. Strong background in critical care experience, particularly related to acute care environments. Proficient in medical terminology relevant to pharmacy operations. Demonstrated ability in patient service and patient care practices. Knowledge of IV infusion processes and aseptic techniques is essential. Previous pharmacy technician experience is preferred, showcasing familiarity with medication administration protocols.
