Job Description

Sirius Staffing is seeking a Pharmaceutical Production Technician for a temp-to-hire in Indianapolis, IN.
Pay $32.00 to $33.00/hour
Shift: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 7:00 am- 7:30 pm
Summary: This position within the Manufacturing group requires extensive training and demonstrated expertise in one or more functional areas. It may be filled by candidates with significant pharmaceutical industry experience or by current employees who have documented training and experience, as shown through progression in job functions within the organization. The employee will oversee the work of other Manufacturing team members and will be held accountable for their performance.
Essential Job Functions:

  • Set up and calibrate equipment for operation and testing according to specifications.
  • Adjust filler and labeler equipment using proper parts and settings for assigned products.
  • Assemble containers and components for the portioning process and verify accuracy.
  • Perform housekeeping tasks following setup (including disinfection and autoclaving, as required) to maintain cleanliness of assembled equipment.
  • Sign in bulk containers and verify lot numbers against paperwork.
  • Order and stock necessary supplies to support operations.
  • Portion materials into containers under safe production conditions.
  • Assemble and don required PPE as specified by protocol.
  • Follow up on inventory shortages.
  • Verify quantities for accuracy (cases vs. boxes vs. each).
  • Set up, operate, and troubleshoot all automated labeling and bagging equipment.
  • Check and update mainframe systems and SAP as required.
  • Maintain records for accountability and procedural traceability.
  • Document all data related to traceability of bulk materials and components.
  • Record all tests, measurements, and calibrations required during operations.
  • Record all calculations and conversions necessary to complete paperwork.
  • Clean and maintain equipment and work areas to ensure product integrity.
  • Clean packaging equipment, test equipment, and tools--disassembling when required.
  • Clean workstations and restock all materials in storage areas.
  • Document cleaning activities in area/hood cleaning logs.
  • Participate in process improvement efforts and share cost-saving ideas.
  • Participate in testing and implementation of process changes.
  • Wear appropriate PPE, including steel-toed safety shoes.
  • Maintain, clean, and safely operate all work areas and equipment.
  • Take necessary steps to provide customers with the highest product quality.
  • Immediately report any situation that could compromise safety or quality.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties and tasks as assigned.
  • Maintain exemplary attendance and adherence to schedule.
Basic Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework preferred. College coursework in chemistry or 6 months of experience weighing chemicals is preferred.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Basic math (including metrics and conversions); understanding of safety rules; knowledge of FMP, SOPs, and UOPs; mechanical aptitude; good eye-hand coordination; strong communication skills; legible handwriting; teamwork; problem-solving; ability to train others; ability to use hand/air tools, pumps, electronic scales, and material-handling equipment; and the ability to read and understand oral and written instructions.
  • 2 years of pharmaceutical manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise in one or more of the following:
  • Cleanroom/Aseptic environments
  • Equipment Preparation
  • Stopper Preparation
  • Inspection (semi-automated and manual)
  • Packaging Operations
  • Sanitization of Classified Areas
  • Operation of Autoclaves
  • Must be certified and maintain certification for entry into the Aseptic Core.
  • Must oversee activities of other Manufacturing team members and take responsibility for process results.
  • Must be capable of independently making critical decisions during processing.
