We're currently hiring an Animal Care Technician to help care for our dogs and cats in a clean, safe, and loving environment.
Responsibilities:
Provide loving, hands-on care for dogs and cats during their stay
Feed, water, and administer medications as directed
Clean and sanitize kennels, indoor lodging areas, outdoor yard
Monitor pet behavior and report any health or behavioral concerns
Supervise and engage pets in playgroups and individual playtimes
Communicate clearly and kindly with pet owners and coworkers
Assist with check-ins, check-outs, phone calls, emails and client updates as needed
Qualifications:
Previous experience with animals preferred but not required
Comfort around dogs and cats of all sizes and temperaments
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks (lifting, walking, cleaning, inclement weather)
Team-oriented with strong communication and organizational skills
Reliable, punctual, and flexible with scheduling
Must be able to work weekends and holidays

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
Animal Care - Knowledge of general care of canines and felines, basic health conditions, stressors and health concerns commonly presented in a lodging facility and how to resolve those issues.
Customer and Personal Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
Clerical - Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, handling payments, and other office procedures and terminology.
English Language - Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
SKILLS REQUIRED
Active Listening - Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
Speaking - Talking to others to convey information effectively. Active Learning - Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making. Reading Comprehension - Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.

ABILITIES REQUIRED
Problem Sensitivity - The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.

Oral Expression - The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand. Speech Clarity - The ability to speak clearly so others can understand you.
Speech Recognition - The ability to identify and understand the speech of another person.
Extent Flexibility - The ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms, and/or legs. Static Strength - The ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects in excess of 50 lbs. The ability to walk all dogs outside including very large and strong dogs and maintain control of the animal in all four seasons of weather including extreme heat, humidity, cold, rain, snow, and ice.
Manual Dexterity - The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
Near Vision - The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).

Pay: $12.00 - $13.00 per hour
