4-6 hour shifts with morning and evening responsibilities

Countryside Veterinary Service in Champion is seeking a dedicated Pet Care Attendant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing a safe and fun environment for dogs/cats in our boarding facility. Your primary focus in this position will be animal husbandry and enrichment.

What Our Pet Care Attendants Bring

Experience in animal care or handling is preferred; previous work in a kennel or veterinary setting is a plus. Strong skills in animal handling, including knowledge of animal restraint techniques. Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) as required for the role. Familiarity with dog training methods and pet grooming practices is beneficial. Excellent communication skills and a genuine love for animals are essential. Must have flexible hours

What You'll Do

Provide basic care for dogs and cats, including feeding, administering medications as needed, and occasional bathing. Client communication (schedule boarding reservations, take payment for boarding stays, communicate medical concerns as needed, etc.) Maintain cleanliness of the boarding facility by regularly cleaning kennels, play areas, and equipment, as well as other areas of the hospital as needed. Monitor animal behavior and health, reporting any concerns to management/medical staff. Handle heavy lifting when moving supplies or managing larger dogs. Ensure all safety protocols are followed to protect both the dogs and staff.
