We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Part-time Personal Support Professionals (DSP) to provide high-quality care and assistance to individuals with diverse needs. This role involves supporting clients in their daily activities, ensuring their safety, and promoting independence within a variety of settings including homes, community environments, and assisted living facilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to person-centered care and possess relevant experience in long-term care or home health services.
Responsibilities
Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
Support clients with medication administration and monitoring vital signs as needed
Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance clients' well-being
Prepare nutritious meals in accordance with care plans and dietary restrictions
Assist with mobility using equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident lifts to ensure safety during transfers
Perform light cleaning tasks to maintain a safe and hygienic environment
Observe and document client conditions, behaviors, and progress for care plans
Follow HIPAA guidelines to ensure confidentiality of client information
Support clients with cognitive impairments such as dementia or Alzheimer's through specialized memory care techniques
Collaborate with healthcare teams to implement individualized care plans and document patient progress
REQUIRED - Vehicle with Insurance
Experience
Candidates should have prior experience working in settings such as group homes, assisted living, nursing homes, or home health environments. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or other chronic conditions is highly valued. Certifications such as CPR, First Aid, and HIPAA compliance are preferred. Candidates with skills in patient observation, medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and use of assistive devices like Hoyer lifts will be considered strongly. Previous roles involving hospice or long-term care demonstrate a solid foundation for providing compassionate patient-centered support. Experience working with diverse populations including seniors and individuals with disabilities is essential for success in this role.
