As a Personal Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals in need of support. Your responsibilities will include providing personal care, assisting with daily living activities, and ensuring the safety and well-being of clients. This position requires compassion, patience, and a commitment to delivering high-quality care in various settings such as homes, assisted living facilities, and group homes.

Responsibilities

Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. Provide companionship and emotional support to clients. Monitor and document vital signs and changes in client health status. Prepare meals and assist with meal planning according to dietary needs. Maintain cleanliness in the client's living environment through light housekeeping tasks. Administer medications as per care plans and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations. Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts for safe patient transfers. Support clients with memory care needs including Alzheimer's and dementia care. Engage clients in social activities to promote mental stimulation and well-being. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement effective care plans.

Skills

First aid and CPR certification preferred. Experience in home health, hospice care, or long-term care settings is advantageous. Knowledge of patient monitoring techniques and vital signs assessment. Ability to assist individuals with developmental disabilities or autism effectively. Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients and their families. Experience in cleaning and maintaining a safe living environment for clients. Familiarity with caregiving practices in nursing homes or assisted living facilities is beneficial. Competency in preparing nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary restrictions. Understanding of social work principles related to client support services.
